Pine Creek Conditions

FYI: If you aren't part of the fest in Hyalite this weekend, checkout Blue and Green in Pine Creek. Conditions were superb super plastic today, and no snow laminations yet! How to post photo? Saw that in a topic earlier, but can't find it now. If anyone wants a current shot of Blue or Green let me know and I'll send. Or post the info on how to insert photo in here. Thanks, woods

get your photo on a website... dotphoto, shutterfly, etc... right click on the image and copy the entire url when you go into the post click the Img button. Paste your url after the Img thing that shows up in your text box. then click the img* button (same as img, it changes to img* when you click it once) should look like [img]www.yourphotoorsomethinglikethat.c om[img/] make sure your "disable HTML in this post" is checked

I went with BozemanIce's instructions and have to add one thing: When you right-click the image, go to properties. Then copy the URL address. Thanks for the beta.

Pine Creek on 12/8: there was ice visible on Incubus, All mixed up looked poor, approach pitch to East of paradise was thin looking where visible, the top looked good, Brain Cramp looked ok, with more ice higher up the gully and off to the left, Green and Blue excellent as mentioned earlier. Blue Gully has lots of ice above the main pitch. Might be fun in these conditions to continue up the gully for an alpine adventure. No snow in gully. Avalanche hazard on Blue and Green was minimal on 12/8 since there was no snow. There starts are high above though so beware wind deposit if we get any more snow. Green Gully on 12/8/04: There is also a flow across the canyon not listed in the guide. It is 200 yards right of East of Paradise and looks like a thinnish grade 3? This photo(sorry blurry) shows East of paradise on left and unnamed climb to right. What is it and has it been climbed? Photos aren't working; the disable HTML doesn't seem to make a difference. Will the photo show up in the preview when it is working right? Under optiions, it always says HTML is on regardless of whether disable is checked or not. :? Woods

It should. I just tested with this photo and it worked fine. [img]http://www.dtm-websolutions.com/boatbuild/MiscPhotos/bigone_112704_sm.j…] My guess is that Shutterfly does not store the path to the actual image, including the file name extension (.jpg, .bmp). Thus, HTML does not know how to display it. Try posting at www.imagestation.com. A lot of folks use them for posting on line. Photos look good when I copy and paste into the address bar! Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the help/advice. Jim worked on the photo problem and was able to fix it. It appears that I had the links correct but that Shutterfly assigns too long a name. Will try imagestation in the future. Woods
