Missoula Ice

Went to Blodgett on Wednesday to do some aid climbing on Flathead. Found All of the ice smears on the south side of the canyon to be very thin and not climbable. There is only about 1" of snow in the shaded areas of the canyon. Blodgett Falls is a good flowing waterfall with no sign of ice. It was a warm and sunny in the afternoon, and next to the rock it was even warmer, perfect rock climbing temps.

Pray for snow, Ben

I took a drive out to Skalkaho falls yesterday in the snow and was surprised to see quite a bit of ice forming on the seep 100 yds to the right. it looks kinda thin, but all-in-all really promising for a good ice year. there was probably 8" of snow up there already, but the road was solid. skalkaho falls was still raging... -brett
