Take Responsibility --- Use Your Real Name

As I read posts on this board, and especially some of the emotional topics below, I would like to reiterate an issue raised by JoJo last season and I will quote directly, "And finally - I believe, everyone should take responsibility for their views and use their real name. " We are all out there climbing and each of us probably know a handfull of climbers who may or may not post on this board. I along with many of you would much rather read comments made by real people, not those hiding behind their computer. Doing so will help the board remain honest, and usefull.

http://www.mgear.com/pages/product/product.asp/imanf/Climb+High/idesc/T… Titanium ice screw, 13 dollars? I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything about these, are they cr** or... I'm new to the ice and as BD screws have already put a hole in my pocket, it would be sweet if there was a less expensive alternative. Any comments would be appreciated -kevin

Montana ethics?

What benefits do we as locals in Montana gain by publicizing our climbing areas? Besides monetary gain to a guidebook author, what does our so called "climbing community" beneift from the explotation of our resources. Montana has for a long time been a "secret" place and the ethics of the state used to be "dont tell." Anyone who has been climbing in hyalite for over ten years can attest to the crowding now seen. Of course everyone is out to have fun, and sometimes mingling can be fun and not just a cold wait for other parties.

Capitalism in Hyalite Canyon

IMO... keep capitalism out of hyalite canyon! keep capitalism out of hyalite canyon! keep capitalism out of hyalite canyon! the ice festival is a capitalist ploy disguised as an opportunity to share our love of climbing with others. the same could be said about the "other" ice festival. I'm not bashing capitalism, (maybe i should) i'm bashing the exploitation of a world class climbing venue with limited carrying capacity. i'm not bashing barrel either, local climbing shops are a priceless resorce.
