Wasn't sure where to put this, i figured of all the sections cooke was the closest.
went into the west fork of Rock Creek this weekend to look for some ice. Walked into the main campground a few miles up, noticing multiple formations way up on the north side of the valley. walked past a few thin looking formations that we bypassed but would check out again on the way down. walked south towards the White Tail peak and saw a very nice looking line only about 1/2 mile from the meadow. we walked up to 2 steller pitches, each about 50 meters. first pitch was a rampy grade 3 leading to a spectacular grade 4 pillar above it. ice was fat as the weather was cold.
we ran into someone who said that he thought the route was called numero uno falls. ring a bell to anyone?
walked back down canyon to climb horseshoe falls, which was in great condition. highly recommend these routes to anyone near the area.
cheers
