Twin falls

Climbed the left side of twin yesterday, it was fair with little to no pro. The right side was still dropping bombs and running wet. It was snowing and socked in so hard to see across the vally, but cleos and solstice were starting to form, more ice than I thought there would be.A special thanks goes out to the two parties that broke trail through 12 to14 inches of snow and then bailed ..The climb was worth th hike and will be in better soon enough. I recomend desert dance on the way out , I diddnt climb it ,but climbed with some friends that said it was fun and worth the time to stop and dry tool a bit , cheers .. sorry no photos..

Hey Bury, glad I could help bust the trail and then not find the climb. (Damn fog) It's good to hear that someone made it. BTW if anyone found a small digi camera in a green case please let me know. I fear it's lost in the Pow.

Hey Kartch, Good slog ... bummer about the camera! Post a message in the lost and found as well, perhaps you'll get lucky.

Yeah I learned my lesson - sleep in and let someone else break trail; especially if you're a noobie to the area.

Were you guys the ones out there sweeping the trail and digging with frisbee's?

Twas a splendid day for a hike in the woods. The Twin Falls of yore were thick enough and getting thicker by the minute. This is Kris Erickson hiking the right side. We ran into a couple of denizens from the Shire at the base. Quite happy they were, even with the calvacade of falling ice where the death star was warming the rock. If the conditions do not warm up too much we should be in for a good year. As it was warm we saw a stack of falling ice. Cleopatra's Needle gave way while we were hiking up. Argg matey - nature's fury, eh? We all lost one of the most motivated & cheerful climbers yesterday when Todd Skinner fell to his death in Yosemite. May peace be with him and our condolences to his wife and three children. Be safe and do what you love to do with the time left to you.

Party in front of us got hit good and split the chin open of the leader. Ouch. Hope you feel better dude. Very climbable. Was able to get 4 good screw placements and 1 bad placement. If you've got the time I would highly suggest going and climbing up there! For more photos of our trip you can go to http://www.gourp.com/Twin%20Falls%20Rob/index.html Have a good climb guys!
