Dano and I got up to Hyalite a few days ago and found some pretty good ice to climb. Sunday we went up the Flanders Drainage and climbed what we believed to be what Big Sky Ice calls Wedgy. It was an easy 50 foot thin flow of good ice. Monday we headed up to have a look at Overlook mountain and the Monkey's Ass Wall. It appeared to be a bit sketchy so we headed over to Disco Party and G-Spot. Disco Party was thin with marginal pro but nonetheless climbable. G-spot has a much better aspect (northish) and we found good green ice with generally good screw placements and a scepter came in handy as well. This was a great climb with three interesting, and at times challenging steps...the second step was a 25 foot vertical curtain which was the crux when we climbed it. Definetly worth the long approach! Finally, on tuesday we went to Twin and climbed the right falls on great ice with bomber screws.

Adam and I went to climb Switchback Falls this evening. We found just enough ice to climb, with very poor bonding. Perhaps this was because we did not get out until 2:30 this afternoon? A good part of the climb was mixed moss/rock/slush. Still, it made a fun outing. ~Phil
