I call it the 'White Rabbit'

Hello Everybody, Yes, Montanaice still exists. I went out to the back 40, inflated the tires, changed the oil, adjusted the distributor cap, put some new fuel in 'er, and what do ya know: the 1967 Ford Truck of a website turned over and kicked up! It belched some black smoke into the error logs files, but after software upgrades, she's runnin' fine. Yes, I still ice climb, too. Occasionally. See the White Rabbit photo above, it's hometown Livingston. Also a couple times with my oldest and best buds, Kris and Joe.

South Fork Pine Creek Climbs

Gross Volkable (or however its spelled) not really in, Kleine definitely in. I walked by the Volkable climbs down to the creek and continued S heading for Neptune and Pluto but ran out of time. Pretty much all of the E-NE facing climbs on the opposite side of the drainage were in (2.20.15). Attached is a photo of Gross and Kleine. Didnt need snowshoes, probably would benefit from them now. Pine Creek Falls was blown out. Blue and Green looked great.

Pine Creek March 9 2014

Pine Creek is looking fantastic, if you can get to it. We broke trail to the TH with my Trooper driving on top of mostly frozen snow. The snow softened greatly while we were climbing and getting out took chains, shovels, and a lot of momentum. I apologize for leaving some giant ruts; we just chewed up the road getting out. This warm weather will go a long way in melting a lot of the snow but there are some sheltered, shady spots that might piss off a Subaru. I used to post a lot of pics but for some reason this website rejects all of them.

Mission Creek

Tired of climbing the same routes?

Just thought I would pass on some info that Mission falls and several of the other routes in Mission creek are in and very enjoyable. Park on the county road and walk the 1 mile into the parking lot. There is a large drift not far down the road and the owner of the 63 ranch can be very "dificult" if you park on the access road that crosses his property.

have fun
